How do you configure Polar Navy on a WiFi enabled laptop with Windows 10 using the Vesper WiFi hub the GPS and AIS data source?

Thanks in advance, Kevin

I am not familiar with that device, unfortunately.

As a general rule, PolarView can receive NMEA 0183 formatted data over a network connection (either client or server, TCP or UDP). You may want to consult with device manufacturer for specific guidance

I've a Navico NAIS-400 Class B AIS transceiver. It interfaces to my Mac via USB using the proAIS software (vesper using vmAIS). I believe they are based on the same hardware. Both output NMEA183 or N2K.

I'm using the XB-8000 WiFi which is on the boat's WiFi network. Then set up a network connection in PN on your laptop (connected to your boat's WiFi network) and use the network address you've set up in the XB-8000 as the source address. Not sure how you'd do it without a boat network, but I'd try creating the network connection in PN and trying to access the network address of the XB-8000 (I wouldn't bet on this, however).

Perhaps you should check with VM!
