Route files default to saving as "..csv"
Route files default to saving as "..csv"

I broke a cardinal rule of software by upgrading two things at once, mostly because one broke the other. To wit, I upgraded my Ubuntu from 16.04 to 18.04, and at the same time I upgraded to the latest Polar View from the previous release. I had to load some older libraries to get PV working on 18.04.

Now when I save a route, if I do not add the filename extension manually, the route saves as "someroute..csv" instead of "someroute.gpx" as it did in the past. And, yes, there are two dots instead of one.

The file save dialog populates the file name (without extension) from the route name, and all is well if I just remember to also type ".gpx" in that box. So I have a workaround, but it's a minor annoyance.

Did I break something during my upgrade, or is this a bug in either PV or Ubuntu?

Most likely a difference in system file dialog behavior.

Since actual file dialog is a function of the distribution, the GUI environment and the installed libraries - it may be challenging to match or control its behavior from within an application.
