Sad to hear about the end of PolarNavy
Sad to hear about the end of PolarNavy

I really like PolarNavy and it is horrible for me to hear that this great piece of software comes to an end. Is there any chance to buy it or to govern it in a different way ?

Cheers, Ralf

Unfortunately, Polar Navy cannot continue as a going concern. Due to variety of licensing issues it is not possible to opensource the product.

Aside from that, the product is using a number of online services which, in turn, need both investment and labor to maintain and ongoing development to stay current.

Will the current version continue to work if we supply our own charts?

We do not have a way to deactivate existing installations.

I am also very sad to learn that PolarView NS is going to end its development. It was a wonderful navigation application.

I hope the loss of Active Captain was not the fatal blow.

I'm quite sure that a lot of users will pay a yearly fee to keep the S63 service up and running - I fear that in 2020 I cannot revalidate my permits :-(

Unfortunately, Polar Navy revenues were no longer sufficient to maintain it as a going concern. There is no "quick fix" to this situation.
